The MODIS/ASTER Airborne Simulator (MASTER) is an airborne scanning spectrometer developed at NASA's Ames Research Center (ARC) with NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) to support validation of Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) and Advanced Spaceborne Thermal Emission and Reflection Radiometer (ASTER) retrieval algorithms.

MASTER provides visible-shortwave infrared and thermal infrared imagery and operates across 50 spectral channels in the 0.4-13 μm wavelength range. MASTER has a pixel spatial resolution of 5 to 50 meters and has a swath width of 1.87 to 37.25 km depending on the flight altitude. It has a typical scan rate of 6.25 Hz.
