The GPM Ground Validation Dual-frequency Dual-polarized Doppler Radar (D3R) Precipitation Imaging Package (PIP) University of Connecticut (UCONN) dataset includes precipitation measurements and video images. These data were collected during the GPM Ground Validation Field Campaign at the University of Connecticut, which provided an unprecedented set of wintry precipitation observations from multiple traditional and novel precipitation measurement instruments that can be used for validating ground-based and satellite remote sensing observations. Data values obtained using PIP measurements include particle size distributions, fall velocity distributions, precipitation density estimates, and precipitation rates. The dataset files are available from September 15, 2021 through May 21, 2024 as generic data files (.dat) in ASCII-CSV format with browse imagery and video available in PNG and AVI format.
