LANCE NRT Data and Imagery
Download near real-time (NRT) data provided by NASA's Land, Atmosphere Near real-time Capability for Earth observation (LANCE) from the following instruments and platforms:
- Atmospheric Infrared Sounder (AIRS)
- Advanced Microwave Scanning Radiometer 2 (AMSR2)*
- Microwave Limb Sounder (MLS)
- Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS)
- Measurement of Pollution in the Troposphere (MOPITT)**
- Ozone Monitoring Instrument (OMI)
- Ozone Mapping Profiler Suite (OMPS)
- Soil Moisture Active Passive (SMAP)
- Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite (VIIRS) - VIIRS Land and VIIRS Atmosphere
- LANCE NRT Flood product (MODIS and VIIRS)
*Updates to AMSR2 NRT datasets ceased on Sept. 1, 2025. After this date, the NASA AMSR2 SIPS will stop processing and delivering updates to these datasets.
**MOPITT was turned off on Feb. 1, 2025. Read more about MOPITT's legacy.
Other Reduced Latency and Expedited Data and Imagery
- Expedited Advanced Topographic Altimeter System (ATLAS) on the Ice, Cloud, and land Elevation Satellite-2 (ICESat-2)
- Note that data from ICESat-2 are expedited and made available within 3 days of satellite observation rather than the average 45 days for the standard data.
- Plankton, Aerosol, Cloud, and ocean Ecosystem (PACE) mission - now available
- TROPOspheric Monitoring Instrument (TROPOMI) - now available
- Tropospheric Emissions: Monitoring of Pollution (TEMPO) - coming soon
LANCE NRT imagery is accessible through Worldview, Worldview Snapshots, and GIBS.
NRT fire data and imagery is accessible through NASA's Fire Information for Resource Management System (FIRMS).
