The Copernicus Sentinel-3 series of satellites measure Earth’s oceans, land, ice, and atmosphere to monitor and understand large-scale global dynamics. It provides essential information in near real-time for ocean and weather forecasting. 

Sentinel-3B, which launched on April 25, 2018, was operated by the European Space Operations Centre (ESA) during the Commissioning Phase and EUMETSAT from the routine operations phase onwards.

Sentinel-3B is a collaboration among the European Space Operations Centre (ESA) and EUMETSAT. ESA has agreed with NASA, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), and the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) to make data available to them from the European Sentinel satellites.
