The Advanced Microwave Radiometer-C (AMR-C) is a multi-spectral passive microwave radiometer used to correct the radar altimeter instrument measurement aboard the Sentinel-6/Michael Freilich platform. The radiometer accounts for the amount of water vapor in the atmosphere, which affects the speed of the altimeter’s radar pulses. The Sentinel-6/Michael Freilich platform will continue sea surface height measurements which have been acquired by the Topex-Poseidon and Jason missions since the 1990s.
