This release adds the Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite (VIIRS) Snow Cover Daily Level 3 Global Products from the Suomi National Polar-orbiting Partnership (Suomi NPP) and NOAA-20/JPSS-1 satellites. VIIRS snow cover products are distributed by the National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Achieve Center (NSIDC DAAC). These newly added data products are:
- VIIRS/NPP Snow Cover Daily L3 Global 375m SIN Grid Version 2 (VNP10A1)
- VIIRS/JPSS1 Snow Cover Daily L3 Global 375m SIN Grid Version 2 (VJ110A1)
NASA's Making Earth System Data Records for Use in Research Environments (MEaSUREs) Geostationary Earth Orbit Land Surface Temperature Hourly North and South America 4 km (GEOLST4KHR) data has also been disabled in this release. The data will continue to be available through Earthdata Search.
About AppEEARS
AppEEARS offers a simple and efficient way to perform data access and transformation processes by enabling users to download only the data they need. AppEEARS provides access to a wide range of geospatial data from multiple federal archives including VIIRS, Earth Surface Mineral Dust Source Investigation (EMIT), ECOsystem Spaceborne Thermal Radiometer Experiment on Space Station (ECOSTRESS), Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS), Soil Moisture Active Passive (SMAP) mission, Daymet gridded weather parameters, and Advanced Spaceborne Thermal Emission and Reflection Radiometer (ASTER) Global Digital Elevation Model (GDEM) Version 3 collections.
A complete listing of data products available in AppEEARS can be found on the Available Products list. Additional resources for using AppEEARS are also available:
