NASA’s Land Processes Distributed Active Archive Center (LP DAAC) archives and distributes several types of no-cost remotely sensed data that can be used with many Geographic Information Systems (GIS) applications to map, monitor, and model processes that occur on the Earth's surface. LP DAAC, located at the Earth Resources Observation and Science (EROS) Center in Sioux Falls, SD, not only has a wide range of data products with varying spatial and temporal resolutions, but also offers many easy ways to access and download these data. This presentation is a beginner’s guide to what types of data are distributed by LP DAAC, how the data can be used, and how to access data and resources on LP DAAC’s website.
