CALIPSO-airborne LaRC HSRL Coincident Underflights

The Cloud-Aerosol Lidar with Orthogonal Polarization (CALIOP) instrument on the Cloud-Aerosol Lidar and Infrared Pathfinder Satellite Observations (CALIPSO) spacecraft provided global, high-resolution profiles of aerosols and clouds from June 2006 to July 2023.

Across those years, the NASA Langley Research Center (LaRC) High Spectral Resolution Lidar (HSRL) was deployed on several different NASA aircraft for a total of 147 underflights of the CALIPSO satellite to provide validation measurements for the CALIOP data products. This special data collection includes the HSRL data files for the coincident underflights.
