The Earth Polychromatic Imaging Camera (EPIC) is a 10-channel spectroradiometer aboard NOAA’s Deep Space Climate Observatory (DSCOVR) spacecraft. EPIC provides color images of the entire sunlit face of Earth at least once every two hours from 1 million miles away. EPIC's unique angular perspective makes it useful for measuring ozone, aerosols, cloud reflectivity, cloud height, vegetation properties, and UV radiation estimates at Earth's surface.
Delivery of Suomi National Polar-orbiting Partnership (Suomi NPP) satellite data products will cease on November 1, 2026. Data users should transition now to alternative products from NOAA-21 and NOAA-20.
