PO.DAAC Releases a Virtual Data Store for SWOT Sea Surface Height Data

This virtualized data representation of the SWOT version D Basic time series allows users to access and download only the parts they want.

NASA's Physical Oceanography Distributed Active Archive Center (PO.DAAC) has released a virtual data store (VDS) for the Surface Water and Ocean Topography (SWOT) Level 2 version D Sea Surface Height Basic Dataset (SWOT_L2_LR_SSH_Basic_D). This is a virtualized data representation of the entire SWOT version D Basic time series consisting of more than 26,000 granules, and it allows users to access and download only the parts of the time series that they want. This improves speed and user experience since it is not necessary to download every granule. 

The VDS can be loaded and accessed both in and out-of-the-cloud. More information can be found in the PO.DAAC Cookbook chapter on virtualized datasets.
