Gaps in Level 0 SNPP, JPSS1, and JPSS2 VIIRS data between October 12 and 13, 2026, are causing a delay in processing data products further downstream—particularly those products relying on the CloudMask. The science team is working to fill the gaps. Please contact Earthdata Support with any questions.
Data Gaps:
- SNPP: October 20, 2026 Orbits 77618, 77619, and 77620 are impacted and data has not been recovered for granules 04:30 though 07:42 UTC.
- SNPP: October 22. 2026 Orbit 77644 was impacted and the data is considered lost. At the Land SIPS the gap covers granules 00:12 though 02:00 UTC.
- JPSS2 L0 data: October 13, 2026 08:00 - 11:12 plus 11:24 - 11:54 (inclusive) UTC. Note: The original gap covered 00:00 - 11:12 plus 11:24-11:54 UTC (inclusive), but some JPSS L0 data for October, 13 was recovered resulting in the revised gap. Additionally, the revised gap may change as more data is reprocessed.
