The Precipitation Measurement Mission, the Precipitation Processing System (PPS), and the Goddard Earth Sciences Data and Information Services Center (GES DISC) have announced the release of Global Precipitation Measurement (GPM) data processed under algorithm version 08. Comprehensive release notes are available from the Precipitation Processing System.
The release includes an updated NASA Goddard Profiling Algorithm (GPROF), which now employs a probabilistic convolutional neural network in place of the Bayesian retrieval scheme used in previous versions. Please have a look at the associated release notes.
All GPM data products are now distributed in netCDF-4 format.
