Due to the major weather impacts from the recent hurricanes Helene and Milton on National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) data centers, several NASA’s Physical Oceanography Distributed Active Archive Center (PO.DAAC) sea surface temperature (SST) datasets have been affected, including some from the Advanced Very High Resolution Radiometer (AVHRR) and Advanced Microwave Scanning Radiometer 2 (AMSR2).

These include missing data from:

  • AVHRR_OI-NCEI-L4-GLOB-v2.1
  • AMSR2-REMSS-L2P-v8.2
  • AMSR2-REMSS-L2P_RT-v8.2
  • AMSR2-REMSS-L3U-v8.2
  • AMSR2-REMSS-L3U_RT-v8.2

The quality of the MUR-JPL-L4-GLOB-v4.1 and MUR25-JPL-L4-GLOB-v04.2 datasets have also been impacted as the L2 AMSR2 Microwave SST data are key input layers in these blended L4 datasets.
